Title Description

In the later years of Reconstruction following the Class Wars, enhanced human variants—envars—have outlived their initial purpose. About the author

Meet C. W. Kesting

Christopher Kesting is the author of two previous novels: The speculative tech-thriller Rubicon Harvest, which was released in October of 2008; and Thrones for the Innocent (June 2009), a paranormal tale of fate and spiritual faith. He is now proud to present Envar Island, an epic science-fiction adventure that marks the first installment of what he hopes to be a thrilling serial saga.

Mr. Kesting’s non-writing career is as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and is something he enjoys nearly as much as writing. He has been practicing anesthesia for over ten years, but writing creatively for as long as he can remember. Because of his passion—or intractable compulsion—to tell a story, he insists that he’ll continue to write long after he quits his day job.

Chris is originally from the Chicagoland area, where he not only completed his anesthesia training but also met his wife and penned his first significant story. In 2003, after many years in the Windy City, he decided to bring his anesthesia experience and family to small-town Michigan. The Kestings now share their wooded riverfront home with all manner of beasts—natural or otherwise.
